This post is #5 in the series, ‘How I came to do what I do’.
If you would like to read from the beginning:
We move quickly through our days. Through our hours. Our minutes.
Through our time.
We organize our days into time slots – time to get up out of bed, time to eat breakfast, time to take a shower and get dressed, time to get into our car and drive, time to arrive at work/the office, time to answer phone calls, time to head home, pick up the kids, eat dinner, go to bed and then…time to do it all over again.
Time.
Our time.
Let’s stop and ask ourselves….what am I doing with MY TIME?
Are we stopping just for a moment and noticing our surroundings? Have we stopped lately to feel the breeze on our face?
Have we just stopped and LISTENED to what is on the breeze?
It only takes minimal time to listen.
Minimal time to give yourself something that will instantly (for those of us who love instant gratification) improve your life.
Take some time to listen.
Animals do.
They stop. They listen.
And…they hear.
Animals live their lives listening.
We can do the same.
For those of us who have been running in the rat race (offering some appreciation for rats at this moment), this takes practice. Simple practice.
Just stop. Take a breath. And listen.
You may not hear words. You may just feel.
And this is how you know you are hearing.
There is always a message. And…it is always a loving message.
If your thoughts are negative that is OK. Just take another breath.
Just be willing to hear.
Practice stopping and listening and you will get better at hearing.
I promise.

Ahhh, such a good reminder to slow down and notice. I so needed to read that post today!
Thank you!
