the short version...
i’m a capturer of moments through the lens of my camera and the black ink of my favorite pen.
as a spiritual junkie, I am ever-searching for the deeper meaning behind experiences and always willing to re-focus and see a new perspective.
I live to realize inspiration and then inspire.
my greatest teachers have had paws, claws, webs, hooves, fins, feathers and scales.
*
the longer version with sordid details... (kinda sorta sordid)
I attended Lesley University in Cambridge, MA.
and majored in holistic studies and healing.
and intense self-discovery.
*
I was enrolled in a way of schooling where I felt completely at home.
nontraditional. exactly like me.
you could choose your professors.
you could choose your own books.
*
what I learned in this nontraditional program helped me integrate all of my passions: teaching, spirituality, self-help disciplines, writing and photography.
it helped me integrate all of the aspects of myself that I had set out to initially choose from.
*
I thought that that was the only way I would have a career. to choose.
this experience helped me create my business, animals’ wisdom.
where I get to work, play and create from all of my passions: capturing moments, inspiration, sharing, connection, communication and relationship.
my way of life.
*
from 2000 – 2008, I offered my services as an intuitive communicator and holistic health consultant.
one-on-one sessions with clientele were comprised of: 3 types of non-invasive bodywork rolled into one, flower essence and homeopathic remedy recommendations for the acute need, and tips for everyday peaceful living with your animal companion.
I led workshops on the deeper reasons how and why, both domestic animals and wild creatures, partner up with us and share our lives.
I offered courses in my unique, non-invasive bodywork style complete with certification.
I also had apprenticeships to either study the specifics of my holistic approach to then use, or, follow my curriculum of self-discovery; to realize their life’s dreams.
*
at the beginning of 2010, after working myself to the bone at a job that required all of my focus and energy, I decided to move and make a fresh start.
I came to live on cape cod, with the intention to re-start my business, offering all of what I shared above.
*
but then, what I never thought would, happened...
just a few months after my move, my father ended his life, in june of 2010.
I retreated into myself and behind my camera.
this process of feeling and allowing and letting go, all while taking photographs wherever I went, allowed me an epiphany.
taking pictures made me feel better. no matter the space I was in or what I was feeling.
taking pictures; capturing moments made everything ok in the present.
*
this epiphany led me to where I am now...
offering dynamic self-discovery programs with support and inspiration, designed for and with the unique individual.
blogging about how to re-focus and choose new perspectives, on age-old subjects and viewpoints; how life is the art, and relationship the medium.
sharing how all that the animals have taught me is vital to feeling truly alive; to truly living.
